The Photography of Jim DeVleeschouwer Jr
Sometime in 2009 I purchased my 1st DSLR, a Nikon D60, a small compact, lightweight camera that served me very well. I spent the next several years with that camera learning to compose shots, getting the perfect exposure, and trying new techniques. A perfect hobby from a family that has a lot of art in their history. I have since upgraded several times to professional grade equipment, and my photography went from being a hobby to something I take very seriously.
Trains are also a love of mine, and putting the two together was just natural. I have several published photographs and articles about the Pere Marquette 1225 and the Nickel Plate 765. They are featured articles in "O Gauge Railroading" and "Live Steam and Outdoor Railroading" magazines. I have several upcoming articles in the near future.
Family has also played a big part in my photography. As my kids were born and starting to grow, they became naturals in front of the camera. I even took on a project were I snapped a photo of my son each day of the 1st year of his life.
I also started getting more into landscapes, and love traveling around the Great Lake state photographing the most beautiful places on earth. My photos have started to get noticed, and I love taking them. One day I started to come out of my comfort zone of only photographing trains and landscapes, and started to do portraits. I am preserving memories of my family as it grows, and would like to do the same for your family. Let me become your family photographer and we can make memories for a lifetime.
My mission statement:

My goal is to develop relationships with my clients and provide the kind of service that makes them see me as their family photographer, not simply a photographer.
